This unusual dragon motif napkin ring commemorates the Veiled Prophet pageant of 1900, held in St Louis.
Each year since 1878 St Louis has held a pageant which is called the visit of the Veiled Prophet. The founders intent was to create a local celebration in the likeness of Mardi Gras.
Dimensions: 1 7/8" - 1", weight 27 grams or 0.9 ozs Troy.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
The soft, warm, original antique finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
This is the only American dragon napkin ring that we have seen.
